Parents for Arts Education is now a 501(c)3!!
After several years working alongside great arts advocacy organizations, researching where and how a new organization can truly support the future of fine arts education, the Parents for Arts Education board of directors decided to apply for 501(c)3 status with the IRS. After gaining this status as of December 2023, we are excited to restructure and focus our efforts on growing this amazing organization.
Our commitment to statewide and national advocacy:
As a member of the Texas Arts Education Campaign, we will be bringing awareness to legislative issues in Texas around arts education funding and support. Additionally we will be looking to build similar relationships nationally to ensure parents have a separate voice and are heard regarding the importance of these classes and programs. However it’s not just about legislative advocacy:
Parents for Arts Education is committed to Encourage, Support and Advocate for fine arts education at every level. As a 501(c)3 we can increase our fundraising efforts to support more events and activities that bring awareness and ensure demand for these programs is strong in all of our communities. Through our local, “ground game” efforts we can bring current and former HS arts parents and students together with preschool and elementary parents to educate and encourage them to seek and support fine arts education activities in their school and communities. With additional funds, we can sponsor student leadership programs that bring awareness to the “human skills” learned through these programs that support all future careers. Plus we can create opportunities to encourage the next generation of great fine arts educators.
Now everyone who believes that strong fine arts education is vital for future generations can support our efforts in multiple ways: through a donation, following and sharing our social media, and volunteering to organize local events!
