At Parents for Arts Education, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to develop essential life skills through fine arts education. By coordinating parents and students, both current and alumni, to encourage, support and advocate for these programs, we know we can make a difference.
Up until now a small group of volunteers have spent countless hours building the foundation for this new nonprofit organization. Now more than ever we need to focus our efforts on in person meetings and events to identify local needs and recruit volunteers. We aspire to build a sustainable organization that is consistently encouraging, supporting and advocating for fine arts education at the local, state and national level.
All of this takes funding. We are asking supporters to consider making a donation to Parents for Arts Education as part of their year end giving, to look into possible corporate matching with their employers and encourage others to donate as well.
Why Your Support Matters:
- Fine arts education builds skills essential for 21st-century success, such as creativity and problem-solving.
- Students who participate in arts programs are up to 112% more likely to achieve exceptional scores on standardized tests and twice as likely to graduate.
- Schools with thriving arts programs often rely on community support to sustain their efforts further widening inequality.
- An arts organization not affiliated with a particular school or program can help bridge those gaps.
- When parents and students speak, decision makers listen.
- Our efforts to build a sustainable local structure can make a lasting difference.
Together, we can:
- Advocate for strong fine arts programs and secure funding to keep them accessible.
- Build local teams to empower parents and students to champion arts education in their communities.
- Educate elementary parents on the benefits of high participation in fine arts throughout their middle and high school years.
Your financial support helps us reach and train potential volunteers to support the needs in their local areas, educate decision makers and encourage parents of younger children to support and enroll in fine arts courses.
Your generosity ensures that fine arts education stays in the forefront of the fight for well rounded education. Together, we can make a lasting impact.
Thank you for believing in the power of the arts to transform lives.
With gratitude,
Trina Martin
